San Antonio

I told you I was taking a trip with a friend.
The trip was this last weekend.   It was a friend/work weekend.  I went with my friend that I have known since the 3rd grade so it was so nice to spend time with her.  I went to help my friend with work and to be able to spend time with her and to get some away time.   It was a fun weekend.

We got to Texas Saturday afternoon.   Have I ever mentioned this was my first time ever to Texas, so that was kinda fun for me to add a new state to my list.   We settle in to our hotel and then headed downtown to meet Vicky's cousin and my friend from High School Sandy.   We met her at Riverwalk for dinner, which was such a fun place to go.  I would love to go back with Thayne.

note to self, this shirt make me look pregnant.
Sunday was work day.   Vicky is a travel agent and started doing Quinceanera Cruises.  We went to a quinceanera convention for her to advertise her business.   It was so fascinating to me to see what it was all about.  I didn't know alot about quinceanera's but I certainly know now.  Holy Moly, it is like a wedding without the groom.   Very fun to learn about another culture.   I wish I took pictures of the girls dresses because they were quite the thing.  Very pretty but I don't know I would let my 15 year old wear it.

The booth we set up.
After our day of work and my feet hurting and voice tired and sore from talking, we were invited back to Sandy's for dinner.  She made yummy chicken taco's.  It was funny because they have a saying that everything is bigger in Texas.  Well, we were sitting to eat and Sandy asked if I wanted Sprite, juice, Dr Pepper or water to drink.  I say Sprite would be fine.  She comes back to the table a puts a 3 liter bottle of Sprite in front of me.  It was the hugest bottle of soda I have ever seen.  3 liters!!!!  I looked at Vicky and said "see everything is bigger in Texas".   They all started laughing.    It was a fun night talking and laughing and catching up.

This was us in High School our senior year, and this was us Saturday night.
our hair has changed the most.

Monday morning we headed to the airport to head  home.  Thayne was actually going to San Antonio for work as we were leaving so we met him in the airport for lunch and visited for a little while.  It was nice since I hadn't really seen him all weekend.

I am home and can now say I have been to Texas.  Another pin on my states I have been to.   More memories made.  I am thinking my next trip needs to be somewhere warm and on a beach.   I think it will probably be to Seattle with Thayne for work and to visit my little sister, but I have a beach on my mind for a vacation very soon.
