I got a dollar, I got a dollar
I got a dollar, hey hey hey hey!
Sometimes it pays to go running.
I try to go running in the morning when it is still dark. When Thayne and the kids are in the car with me driving and we see someone running they always say, "is that what you look like when you run"? That is why I go when it's dark. I don't want to be the topic of the conversation in someones car. I always tell them I don't know what I look like when I run but my shadow looks great when it runs. I know i'm a dork cuz it is too dark when I run to have a shadow, but if I did have a shadow I am sure it looks good running. I went running this morning the same time I always do but it seems to be getting lighter earlier. So I start out when it is dark and when I finished it was pretty light outside, which is a good thing today because...... as I was finishing up my run I was running through an empty field and right in my path was A DOLLAR!
Cha Ching!
I know not really a lot of money but way better than a penny and always a fun surprise to look down and see green that isn't a weed. A dollar is a drink from QT, or a big chocolate bar or maybe I should be thinking of something less sugary and fattening since I found it running. Maybe it is a dollar that I will have in my purse when my kids ask if they can have some money. Maybe I will frame it in my closet by my running shoes with a saying that says, "it pays to run". All I know is it was nice to find the little surprise on my run and just to think if it had been dark when I was running through the field I would have passed it. It just goes to show ya how easy it is to pass things up when you are in the dark.
In life not just in running.
