I'm old

Another year older.   Leaving for the airport soon to pick up Thayne and spend the day with my family.  TJ stayed in California to work but I will see him next weekend.   Always a good day when I spend it with my family.   The last year has been, well..... interesting.    Always the good fun busy stuff with kids.   I love when they make me laugh, not so much fun when they make me cry and always nice to look back and see how much they have grown.   This year with Thayne has had the good, bad and the ugly.   It would be nice to say it was all kicks and giggles but I am not one to sugar coat things and it has been a rough year but we are still here kicking.   One day at a time.   The last few days a little rough and trying to do my best to make today a good day.

Things I have learned this last year....

~ not to give up.  One reason I won't give up running is because I don't want to one day have to start over.  I feel I am finally breaking through and doing better.

~ everyone has a story and I like talking to people and hearing their story.   I really think you can learn something from everyone.  There are things I hear from people that I like to remember to make me a better person and there are things I hear that I like to completely stay away from.   Either way I have learned from them.

~  I learned to pick my battles.   I am not happy about this one.   Life would be nice to have it my way all the time but since that is never gonna happen I am learning to pick the important ones to fight.

~  I learned crying causes wrinkles a long time ago but this year I learned it is better for my blood pressure to just get it out sometimes.

~ I like asparagus!   I know crazy right?   Who would have thunk it.   But I do, I like it.   I also learned I like artichoke hearts.  Well I don't cook or make it but had it at the great restaurant called Baci and it was so yummy.   I haven't learned to like fish yet but who knows maybe this year.

~ taking time to visit family is always fun.   Saw my grandparents this year and it was a visit I treasure.   They are fun people and I miss seeing them.

Well I better wrap this up so I am not late to the airport.

Everyday is a good day to be alive.  Everyday I can learn something if I open myself to it.   Everyday is a chance to do something for someone else.  Everyday is part of my story and good or bad it is a learning growing experience.
