Happy Birthday Thayne

Today is Thayne's birthday and it is probably not a surprise that he is in Kentucky. What a stink. We celebrated alittle bit this last weekend with a party. Thayne does not like to have parties for himself. When he turned 40 he would not let me have a party but told me when he had is "halfway" birthday I could have one for him. One rule....no games! Now a halfway birthday means that Thayne has this belief that he is going to die when he is 86, so 43 would be his halfway mark. So this was the year so we had a small get together with our friends and had a good time eating and eating and eating and visiting. Simple and easy and if it wasn't for me stressing about cleaning it would have been a very relaxing event.

I really married the love of my life. We are the perfect fit. I love growing old with him and enjoy having him as my very best friend. So ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THAYNE! I LOVE YOU!

Here are some pictures from the party. I let my kids take alot of the pictures so many did not turn out and some were blurry, but we have some to show anyways.

mystery project

Today I made a few trips to Lowe's and Home Depot. I have this project all figured out in my brain but really have no idea how it will turn out. I learned that you get alot more help at these stores when your husband is not with you. I also learned that they really don't help but are willing to follow you around and help you get stuff off the shelves so they look like they are helping. I had the guy at Lowe's pushing my cart, cutting molding (which I still have to cut the corners), and agreeing with all my wonderful ideas and saying I am so smart, and of course he kept telling me he would help me do anything I needed. I even scored 2 shirts and a mug just because I was joking around with the 2 cashier in the construction checkout line. Anyways, this is what I got....

molding
board
liquid nails (great stuff)
clear caulking
paint glue
screws

I think that is it.

Check back later to see my creation come to life.

getting dizzy

I have a ton of stuff to do by Saturday night and my head is starting to spin. I have already talked to myself (you do it too) about the fact that all my projects I wanted to do by Saturday night were not going to get done. One reason is I am sitting here blogging instead. I don't need to be told that, I already know. Maybe alittle less time on Facebook. However, I have not planted on my farm there in over a week so I have not wasted a ton of time on there either. Primary program is Sunday and Shelli (love her) has done such a great job that I have not done hardly anything and have stressed little about. I have just been busy with all the little stuff. Don't think that hiring a house cleaner has not crossed my mind. I am going to stick with that fact that it will all works out, it always does!

attention to detail

Last night TJ went to the HS football game. When he got home I asked him how the game was and if our team won. His response was..."we got creamed".

This morning while driving him to school I asked him more about the game.

Me- So we lost last night?
TJ- ya, really bad
me- what team did they play
TJ- A really good one!

Cash Cab

If you have seen this show...

Then you will know just how much fun we had on Saturday night when I drove carpool to the dance. I surprised the kids with Cash Cab Heather style. Every stop sign I would flash the light and sing "cash cab, cash cab" and I would ask them a question. They would win one quarter for whoever answered first and correctly. They got one phone a friend and one shout out on the street. It was a hit and a I will do it again next time I drive.

Lamaze

Do you know what you get when 2 friends go to Lamaze class a little over 17 years ago?

tj ashlee

Ashlee and TJ

Their two kids who meet at one of their birthday parties 17 years later.

17th birthday

09-09-09

Last year when TJ turned 16 we wanted to throw him a big birthday party. He completely refused and I was so sad. I never had a 16th birthday party and so I wanted all my kids to have one. Well TJ stood his ground and we caved and just had a family celebration.

This year his 17th birthday landed on 09-09-09. Thayne and I didn’t give him a choice we told him he would be having a party. How could you not have a party when your birthday lands on that date, right?

We had his friend Porter invite his friends. I went on Facebook and invited his friends that way too. We knew it was a school night so we weren’t really sure what kinds of turn out we would get but we didn’t care, we were throwing a PARTY!!!!!

Everything turned out great, all his good friends were there and we had FOOD, FOOD, FOOD and more FOOD.

Now he did surprise us all and wore his Speedo for a little bit. His friend Josh bought it for him in the Philippians.

I will add pictures of that later. Ü

I don’t labor on Labor Day

Thayne got up really early this morning. To early for me to even roll over and look at the clock. I heard him leave the room and close the door behind him so I wouldn’t wake up with any noise. I heard the house alarm get turned off which means he is going out in the yard to work. CRAZY!!!! I am pretty sure he knew it is Labor Day, the day you get to sleep in.

I finally woke up on my own at 7:30 and went straight outside (because I knew he was out there) and found him weeding the front of the house. I told him he got up to early, probably around 3 or 4. He said yes it was 3am. What a nut, huh? He told me I should go back in and sleep in as late as I wanted because this was one day I could actually do that. Now isn’t that funny that a man who wakes up at 3 all on his own tells me to sleep in.

I just love him because he knows the things I enjoy in life and as lazy as they are he lets me enjoy them.

Rattlers 9-2009

Well this week I was officially the worst football mom on the team. Friday night I did not pay attention and did not get Wyatt to his walk through practice. It wasn’t because they did not do a good job telling everyone because everyone else seem to have made it, Wyatt was the only one not there.

When we got to the game on Saturday, Wyatt was the only one in tall black socks, they were supposed to be short. Grrrrr. It did help me when taking pictures though because I could always tell if he was on the field or not.

We woke up Saturday with a huge storm and not even sure if we would get to play. The game before ours was cancelled. As soon as we got to the field the rain stopped for the whole game. The weather was nice for a football game. I loved the puddles for some of the pictures. Love seeing the splashes!

On the positive side of things, we WON the first game of the season.

18-6

Wyatt did catch a punt kick from the other team and also made an interception. He was kicker and played alot of the game. It was a good way to start the season.

Now if only I can get my football mom butt back on the ball I will have a better season too.

Now the next to pictures are not of Wyatt but of our coaches son, but they are my best photography pictures of the game. I thought they turned out rather nice.

Now don’t you just love the splash!
