I am really not sure who to blame, or if there is anyone to blame. I am just thinking that if this is how you teach your child to mix when they are younger, then I probably should not complain when they do it like that when they get older and make a mess. Right?

I have this problem with this cute little boy who always wants to make cookies but always seems to make the biggest mess and never cleans it up. The last time he made cookies I told him he could never make them again because he makes a mess and always eats all the dough and there only ends up being 2 dozen cookies out of the whole batch.
Yesterday he asks to make cookies and PROMISES he will clean up the kitchen better than when he got in there. So I stupidly agreed.
Last night the kitchen had cookie crumbs all over the counters and stove and cookies all over the counter. There was only one dozen of flat crunchy cookies.
This morning this was our conversation. Keep in mind he thinks he is funny and being very sassy.
Me- TJ you still have a cookie mess to clean up.
TJ- where I don't see a cookie mess
Me- right there on the stove and the counter
TJ- I don't see any mess
Me- Well, I do!
TJ- Well I don't and if you do than you must be seeing things and going crazy.
After he went to school I went back to the kids wing of the house and found the empty cookie dough bowl sitting by the kids computer.
I am beginning to learn that things you do or don't teach your kids when they are little will come back and bite you when they grow up. DUH!
