It’s official
I knew when we moved to Queen Creek with alot of property my life was going to change.
When we lived in Simi Valley and my kids were young, Thayne would take my kids to the pet store all the time. One day we were driving in separate cars, me in one car and Thayne in the other. Thayne had all the kids with him. I saw his car make a detour into the parking lot of the pet store. I instantly called him from my cell phone and told him “do not bring home anything that did not come out of my womb”. That was always the deal. I told Thayne he could not have animals until he was working at home to take care of them. Well he got the opportunity and he was home for awhile and he really stocked up in the animal department. He bought horses, and chickens and turkeys and rabbits and cows. He is now back traveling with work. He has down sized quite a bit, but we still have more animals than I would like to take care of while he is gone. I will say I have been known to curse under my breath that I hate feeding animals when we can’t even ride any of them.
Thayne went out last year and bought a saddle and everything he would need to ride a horse. We knew one of our horses was broke at one time but we didn’t know how well. We have another horse that has had little training but not enough to ride. The other 2 are not ridable (not sure if that is a word) at all. Well all the riding gear has been sitting and waiting and waiting and waiting and WAITING.
This last Saturday was the test day and guess what. Bug (that is the name of our horse) wasn’t quite sure she was into having a saddle on after many years, but she warmed up to it pretty fast and we got to ride.
Wyatt was not really into it and took off to play, but the rest of us each took a turn and I think we are official horse owners that ride.

much needed break
This last week I have had alot on my mind and have been trying to keep a positive attitude even though I think it has gotten to me a little. My friend I have had since the 3rd grade just found out she has many masses in her body and is waiting to hear back on test results. I also got a message from my friend Kaye in Ca that one of our friends that we visit taught together decided to end her life. Almost a year ago our other friend we visit taught together passed away in her sleep at a very young age. Both Ginger and Natalie were both gentle women who loved being a mom and wife. Their kindness was contagious and I will remember the simple things they taught me.
On a good note, Thayne was home this weekend. We managed to get in a small lunch date and small dinner date while he was home. I have learned that having teenagers that our schedule changes all the time and our dates are sometimes cut short or changed so that we can pick our children up from their activities. It will be so nice to have a child with a drivers license soon, I think.
The weather has been beautiful and I am so late in starting on my tan. So now that my priorities are in order, I will be at the gym and by the pool alot more. My sister has passed me a few books to keep me busy while relaxing by the pool. I just love having all my kids in school all day so I can have so pool time to myself. Ahhhhh!
