I know I need to update my blog, I am not sure how this week got so busy but it did. I will update later tonight. I even have pictures. Ü

Everything must come to an end

Today my 2 oldest went back to school. They had a busy spring break and I believe they had fun. It was not fun getting up at 5am this morning to get them up for school. Wyatt and Jessika had today off from school and they go back tomorrow. I took them to see Dinosaurs in 3-D at the IMAX. I have never been to an IMAX before and it was kinda fun. I am glad the movie was only 40 minutes because I am not into all the different information about dinosaurs, but besides all that it was fun to watch. Sending my kids off with camera on their spring break adventures didn't work very well. I did not get very many pictures out of them so I am calling all leaders who may have gotten any to send some my way. I will post what I did get this week.

Ahhhh all kids back to school tomorrow and last minute pinewood derby car stuff to do.

movie time

I went this morning to see this movie with Jessika and Hannah. I want to give some great review, but I can't. Not because it was not a good movie because it was entertaining and kept me paying attention the whole time. I am just left still trying to figure out what I thought of it. So I will say go see it for yourself and then we can talk about it. It is dark and could be scary for some. I kept hearing Jessika say throughout the movie,

"that is creepy"

with a quick change he was ready to go.

He got home at 11:30 and even though I was half asleep I was able to talk to him a little bit about his date.  He had fun and it seemed to go well.  I am waiting for him to wake up so I can get all the juicy details.  He has changed his relationship status on Facebook to “in a relationship”. Now I am not to worried about this because she lives at least 25 miles away and neither one drives.

rearrange the furniture

Have you ever had those moments when you are doing something and you hear a  noise that just brings back the memories of when you were young?

Last night I was watching tv and I heard the kids laughing in the back room.  It was about 9:30pm.  We had a few extra kids over and when I heard the laughing and stopping I knew it was my children reliving my childhood. 

We would always move the furniture in our house so we could do gymnastics in the house.  Every time we would have friends over the furniture would get moved.

Well last night I didn’t even have to look, I just grabbed my camera and headed to take pictures.  My kids had been playing with my camera earlier so the settings were off and I didn’t know it, so these are the best of what I got.

 

 

They were laughing so hard and having such a good time.

Oh to be young and make fun memories!

I know why the schools call it spring break but I think moms should come up with a different name. My kids are going in all different directions all the time. I think I am going to call it ..

Spring give me a BreaK!

TJ is home from his 3 day horseback riding trip. He had alot of fun and had only positive things to say about all of it. He took a camera and came back with about 8 pictures, 4 being on the ride up there in the car. I sure hope some of the leaders got some good ones.

Tonight we dropped Wyatt off at his grandparents and then they will be leaving for Kanab in the morning for the week. He was very excited to go and I like that he is getting to make memories with them, but I still feel sad when he is gone for so long.

We also took Thayne to the airport tonight. We had a nice long weekend with him home. We had gym dates and massage dates and even little dinner dates. It was nice and simple the whole weekend. I sure can't wait until he gets home again.

This week Jessika and I are going to have some fun girl time when Samantha heads off to girls camp. Samantha can't stop talking about how much she is looking forward to repelling. I hope she doesn't chicken out, but she is kind of a dare devil so I bet she will try. Jess and I are going to have fun and I think we will grab her cousin Hannah to tag along with us, I think we will have fun.

TJ informed us last night that he is going on his first OFFICIAL date on Wednesday night. He is getting excited. I asked if I could follow him in my car so I could get pictures of his first date, but he told me absolutely not. I can't wait to hear how it goes.

I am so glad my talk is finally over. I don't know why I get so stressed out about these things, but it sure feels great when it is over.

I think my kids now want to go over to their cousins house and hang out until midnight when it will no longer be Sunday and they can then make and In and Out run. It is the Arizona version of the California "Tommy run". So it looks like I may actually be home all by myself tonight. I remember when I used to think that would be such a nice break, but now I think it will be kind of lonely. I will probably catch up with all my shows I tivo'd and never got to.

The talk diet

Does anyone else get like this. You are asked to give a talk and instantly your stomach tightens up and you feel like vomiting. I wish they would call me the night before so I didn't have to stress so long. I will be so sad if I don't stand on the scale and see that I haven't actually lost a few pounds. Food does not sound good to me at all. Why can't they ask me to talk the week before a reunion when I want to lose 5 pounds. I will say that I have heard alot of families will be out of town for spring break so hopefully there will be a small crowd. Then it will feel like I am just doing a sharing time, and I can handle that. Ü

walking on sunshine

What a glorious day. The weather is just perfect. Thayne has been doing alot of yard work today and walked in the house about an hour ago and said, "every window in the house should be open". He then proceeded to open all of our bedroom window. The smell of orange blossoms is just heavenly. The sound of little boys playing outside and having fun. The grass is green. The sound of the lawn mower and edger being used. We ate fresh California strawberries that were fantastic. Every time we buy strawberries we always check to make sure they are from California because they are the best. I sure miss Oxnard strawberries being sold on the corner by the flat. Oh well, I got mine at Costco and they were delicious. It is a nice spring day in Arizona and I am not even sure it is officially spring. This is the time of year Thayne sneaks to the feed store and brings home baby chicks. I hope he can control himself this year since he will not be home to take care of them. Oh how I wish the weather could be like this all year. Since it can't I am going to enjoy and soak it up as much as I can.

busy kids

Yesterday was the first day of my kids spring break. They all have 2 weeks off. I am usually scrambling trying to find things to keep them busy but as they get older I find they are just always gone.

My boys are always on their bikes. My girls always with friends. Jessika is my one child who stays close to home the most. Some of her friends have gone away for break.

TJ is leaving Thursday morning for a 3 day horse back riding trek with his Priest quorum. His leaders have told us that there is many dangerous part to the trip but they will have a fun time. TJ is not worried but he is never afraid of trying scary things.

Wyatt is going to go on another Papa Denny trip to Kanab next week. They are going to get great grandma garden ready, visit Indian ruins and dinosaur tracks. He likes going up there and I am sure he will have alot of fun. Not to mention all the free ice cream he gets from his great grandpas work freezer.

Sam is having a one day kids camp here at our house. It is a way to earn a little bit of money and pass off a project for her young women's award. She will also be going on the 4th years girls camp outing for a few days next week.

Jess still has no plans except she has alot of birthday money so I am going to take her shopping. She will probably go to the movies with some friends and try to hang out with some boys until she gets caught.

Thayne is coming home on Thursday night. He is home until Sunday night. This has been a long stretch and I am thinking it will be like this throughout his whole job. He has been gone 2 weeks yesterday. He has a pinewood derby car to help with and he likes to catch up on all the yard work. Not to mention all the dates he and I get to go on (my favorite part).

I am thinking I am going to find something fun for myself to do to get out of the house. I am going to get to some of the classes at the gym, and so glad Jenny is going to some so I won't be alone.

I am sending my kids armed with their cameras on their adventures, we will see what great treasures they bring home.

Tetris AGAIN

I don't have to remind anyone of how competitive I am. Especially with computer games. I do want to mention that I do get very upset when I beat the top score but the computer doesn't update my score on my profile. So what do I do, I get my camera and take a picture showing my new top score. I will feel much better when I beat it again and it shows in my status but for now,

1 week to go

Well Thayne has been gone for almost 2 weeks. Monday will be the 2 week mark. He is not coming home until next weekend. Just for the record the second weekend is usually my breaking point. It is Saturday night and so far so good. I went and took myself to Cold Stones. I was talking to Thayne on the phone when I was on my way to get ice cream and I told him I snuck out to get ice cream. I felt bad for not taking the kids so I brought them home some of these.

These are all ice cream cupcakes. As you can see the bottom is a chocolate shell. I will say they were a little pricey, but cheaper than taking all my kids to get their very own ice cream. I am not complaining, my kids are worth every cent.

Next week my kids start spring break, which mean no school for 2 weeks. Did I mention I may be close to a breaking point with Thayne gone? I am hoping to get to some of the gym classes that I don't get to go to since they start before all my kids are out the door. So next week I maybe sore in a good way.

I am now going to go watch a movie in bed and maybe iron some boys shirts for church in the morning.

A girl day

Wow it seems like today was full of girl talk, and of course I liked it.

*went to visit a inactive member today all by myself, which is totally (nice 80's word I use still) out of my comfort zone. It was a nice visit with a very nice lady.

*quick chat on the phone with Julia, always fun.

*small chat with Laurie and Denise at Laurie's house

*dropped Wyatt off at cub scouts and talked with some of the mom's there.

*continued chatting with Laurie and Denise at the church.

*fun chat with Valeen at my house when she brought me my favorite Blue Raspberry slush puppy for my sore throat. Loved it.

I am not sure all of this chatting is going to help my throat but it always helps my spirit.

not so sexy

Well my raspy manly voice that for some reason Thayne thought was sexy, is not so sexy anymore. I called to talk to him on the phone and he said that I sound like....

Last night I did not take enough NyQuil. I have a scratchy throat and sore ears. My voice sounds like crap. I have a raspy manly voice. I took alittle bit of NyQuil before I went to bed but I didn't take alot because it was late. I woke up all night long. I am now tired and feel like I need a nap already. I know, it is going around. I just was hoping not to get it. I am going to take it easy and hope it goes away.
