I did it right for me

After the last few days of trying to keep up with my kids events and dr visits I am absolutely sure I was only meant to have 4 kids. I am not mentally capable of any more. I am totally sure I have the best 4 kids ever, I just know I could not keep up with one more.

the running club

Wyatt's school started a running club after school twice a week. Today was his first day. I signed up to help. When I got there, they already had enough help so I decided to sit and watch for 45 minutes. I would have loved to have my camera to have pictures to go along with the things I saw.

-the mom who was jogging in stick man formation. Her knees never bent.

-the little boy who was barely running but moving his shoulders really fast to make it look like he was running fast.

- the other little boy who during warm ups was jogging in place without moving his feet. He only moved his arms.

- the little girls who did speed walking.

-the other mom out in her jogging outfit thinking she looked great but had VPL. Not pretty ladies.

I am so bringing my camara to Thursdays running club and I hope to get some good shots for my blogging show and tell.

the last game, only not really

Today was Wyatt's last football game and boy was it a game. It was the one game I really wanted to win because we were playing against our neighbors. Again I was worried about Wyatt's weight, but with the help of Lien Cuisine for dinners and running at the track Wyatt weighed in 2 oz under weight. He was so proud since he worked so hard at it. Last night he went to a birthday party and they had a doughnut eating contest and he told them he couldn't do it because he wanted to play football today. What a smart kid.



I was so busy taking pictures I lost track of touchdowns so I don't have the final score so I have to wait until it is posted before I can tell you for sure. I think we had like 4 touchdowns and they had 1. Not sure though. The 2 times the other team threw a pass you know who intercepted.

Now we are going into playoffs the next 3 weeks. That just mean 3 more weeks of trying to keep him under weight. He is having a great season and I am just so proud of him. He has worked so hard to stay underweight and has made alot of sacrifes and it is nice when he can see that it pays off.

the apple doesn't fall far

If there is one thing I can count on when we go places, it is for Thayne to try and figure out how much someone is making off of an event that we are at. For instance, we went to the state fair last Saturday. Thayne was looking at how many people were there and knowing how much we paid to get in, he started calculating about how much each person was spending for the night and how much the fair would make. He even put the camera up in the air to get a picture of all the people in front of us.




This is just something he does and once in awhile I will catch myself doing it. Well, tonight I had a good laugh about it. I took Wyatt to the Jr High school to run around the track. (still trying to keep him skinny for FB). When we got there we were the only ones there. After a few minutes a couple showed up and started jogging. A few minutes later another couple showed up. I looked up to see Wyatt jogging up to me and he was smiling and said "the school could make alot of money if they charged everyone who came here to use the track".

Scary how age changes things.

I was never a huge fan of Halloween. Well I should say I wasn't a fan because there were things I did like about it. When I was younger I liked trick or treating, but was always a bit scared about costume day at school. I always thought I would show up to school dressed in a costume and it would be the wrong day. Luckily for me that never happened. One of my favorite things about Halloween was handing out candy. I like to scare some of the kids and just see how cute the little kids were in their costumes.


Once I had kids, Halloween became more fun. I couldn't wait to help them decide what they were going to be. I had fun making some of the costumes they wore. One Halloween I was so excited for Samantha to be a Cinderella. I bought her the cutest costume ever. On Halloween she saw TJ in his super hero costume and wanted to be Superman. I fought her for the longest time and finally gave in and put her in TJ's superman costume from the year before. I am pretty sure I was so devastated I didn't even take pictures that year, I will have to look. The Cinderella dress became dress up clothes for another day.


Now my kids are older and the wind is now out of my Halloween fun. They want to plan their own costumes. I don't even think about the pumpkin patch anymore. I am realizing I am at the point in my life where holidays are changing because I have no little kids in my house anymore. I am hoping teenage holidays are just as fun but just different. Wyatt did ask me if we were going to carve pumpkins this year and I told him of course. I am so glad he still wants to do it. I think he is the caboose of the kids and I forget that he still wants to do the kid stuff that the rest of us have graduated from. I can't even find that many Halloween pictures of him. I am going back to look through piles of photos because I am sure we dressed him up. I did find this one of him when he was 2.

Another thing about Halloween that makes things different is that here in Arizona the schools here do not have field trips to the pumpkin patch. I liked those field trips, it just got you in the spirit of Halloween. I think next year I am going to plant pumpkins and make my very own pumpkin patch. Yep that is what I am going to do.

One more week and I can start thinking of Christmas.

My computer is absolutey virus free and running fantastic. The even better part is that my vinyl machine is back up and running. Now I can start getting my holiday things ready.

Eagles update -Nothing to spare

Yesterday I woke up holding my breathe until 7:30 when Thayne called to tell me that Wyatt made weight for his football game. He was 79 lbs 2 oz so Thayne told him to go in the bathroom and go pee and he came back and weighed 79lbs even. I never thought I would be stressing over my 9 yr old not gaining weight. We made it and I am so glad we did. Yesterdays game turned out to be the nail biter of the season.

I got to the game a few minutes after it started, I was running late. As soon as I got there I did what I always do, I start taking pictures of the game to put up on the team website. After about 5 minutes I decided to sit down for a second and talk with my MIL who I haven't seen in awhile. As I am sitting there talking I look up to see Wyatt intercept a pass and start running down the field to make a touchdown. It all happened so fast that I did not get one picture of the whole thing. It was all very exciting though.

The scored stayed 6-0 the whole game until the last minute (really it was the last minute) of the game and the other team got the ball and ran in down the field to make a touchdown. They too did not make their extra points so the score stayed 6-6. In the last seconds of the game we got the ball back down the field and thought we might make a touchdown when they called the game. Except we were tied. So we went into overtime, or should I say triple overtime. Each team played 4 downs on the 5 yard line until someone scored. It was so intense crazy. We scored once more and got our extra point and the Cardinals scored once but did not get their extra point.

The boys were amazing under pressure. They got some great tackles and interceptions.

Usually after we win a game the boys get hi-5's from the coaches and a good pep talk.

It's never to late

In the last few months I have found myself in different situations where I have to decide if I should be offended or not by something someone has said or done. I know I probably make other people feel the same way all the time and I am totally unaware. I am lucky to have a husband who is nice enough to tell me when I am going overboard and I just need to relax and it really is the best advice. I would like to think that there are others out there who have felt the same way at different times in their lives, so I am going to share something I found. I was getting an itch to start organizing my craft room which is a total wreck and I will post how it turns out later, but I was looking at organizing blogs to give me some starter tips and I came across this blog that got my attention. It was exactly what I needed to kick me in the butt and start focusing on what is really important, organizing my craft room. Maybe I will even find some finished crafts in my room that I don't want anymore and give something away. I am not going to let the little things bother me because really my blood pressure can't take it. So wish me luck on my quest of not offending or not being offended I will let you know how it goes.

BTW- I think #9 is the one I am needing to work on the most. Or, maybe you could offend me by suggestion one of the others. Just kidding I won't be offended if you want to suggest one you think I need more. Just don't be surprised if I suggest one in return, that's just how I roll.

I love kids. I love kids that boost my ego even more. So, today I am in love with Dalin. He made my day and if I had butter in my house I would make him some cookies.

Today in primary I was doing sharing time. It was not the best sharing time but I got through it. Anyways, I had the kids pull words out of a box and when you put the words together it was a scripture. Easy enough. After all the words were on the board (out of order) I asked the last kids to try and put the words in order to make the scripture. This child was Dalin. He tried and had the right idea of what the scripture should say but just couldn't do it. I will say he did great for a 7 year old. I then told him he could ask anyone in the room to help him. He asked me if it could be a teacher, and I said yes. His dad was even in the room so I told him he could pick his dad if he wanted, and then whispered that he might want to pick someone he thought was really smart. (Here's the best part) He then looked at me and said....

"I pick you"

Is there anything better than boys just having CHEAP good old fashion fun with guns they made all by themselves.

I just love that they even added scopes.

Don't let the guns fool you. These 3 boys are the nicest kids with the sweetest hearts. They disappeared outside and after I hadn't seen them for awhile I peeked out the window to see them walking around with these pvc weapons. They must have spent a good half an hour out in Thayne's landscaping supplies to make the guns.

That is how much weight Wyatt was over for football so he could not play in the game today. Stink a link! Why didn't we shave his head last night. What is so sad is that he is so skinny I am not sure he has 4 more ounces to lose. Now you don't have to feel sorry for him. We knew going into this season he was pushing the weight limit and if he was over he would have to sit out so we knew this could happen. However, when you are counting ounces I think it is alittle extreme. Luckily Wyatt was a good sport and decided to play water boy for his team and he did it with a smile.

As far as score goes, we won again.

There are just certain products that you can look at and they just bring back childhood memories. I also have certain smells that I come across and can't always put my finger on what the smell is but it brings back my childhood.

As I was watching the news this morning I was stunned by the end of one of my favorite childhood memories and the feeling that I needed to run to the store and buy everything in stock.

These goodies are a favorite of mine. It is a cookie that was introduced to me by my dad. He would buy them and then dunk them in milk. They have become one of my most favorite cookies and I feel bad that when I buy them I hide them from my kids instead of sharing and passing down this family treat. Only that my kids do find them because they are always half gone when I go to get one.

The problem here is that this morning I heard that Mother's cookies are out of business. They have shut their door. Kit, put, kapoooeeee, GONE!

I really, really hope that someone helps them out and they open up because I can't imagine walking down the cookie isle without seeing all the yummy cookies they sell.

I am going to go sulk and buy out the store now!

Yesterday I kept hearing Wyatt screaming in the other room. Doors were slamming, and walls were being thumped. I yelled out to the boys from the other room to have them stop. TJ yelled back to me "I am on top of it mom, just relax". Well those words to me mean that I need to check it out and get involved. I went into the room with the boys to see what they were doing and this is what I found.

YW project

I am happy to say that we have been working on Jessika's YW project. They are having their Evening of Excellence next week so she was alittle pressured to get this one done. She decided to learn how to can meat. She asked her aunt Rachel to help her and we planned on last Monday to be our day.

It was very exciting to have learned how to can meat. Jessika was very excited to accomplish this goal. I think we may even try one jar of chicken for dinner very soon. I will let you know how it tastes. I am a little nervous about trying it but kinda excited too.

Tombstone

With Saturday conference being tivo'd and we had a bye this week for football, we decided to go away for the day as a family. WhoooooHooooo! I love going away and doing things with just our little family. We decided to go and see what Tombstone Arizona had to offer. It ended up being about a 2 1/2 - 3 hr drive to get there. Luckily for us the kids are pretty good travelers.

Tombstone is not the most fascinating place to go, but it is a fun place to see once. I can now cross that off my places to see and not have to go back to. It is somewhere to go for just walking around and seeing a piece of history. The end. There is nothing more to do than that. The shows they have are ... well.... pretty sad. Just enough to entertain you so you don't lose your mind. There was enough there to keep us entertained.

I didn't get any pictures of this, but there were alot of bikers there which Thayne likes. I think he just kept wishing he was wearing one of their vests and on one of the bikes. Not really my cup of tea but neither is a yard full of animals.

I love day trips with my family. The last 15 minutes we decided the kids had had enough of time together in the car. Batteries were starting to go dead and giggling was turning to tiffs.
But we had fun and that's all that matters!
