my latest pet peeve

I know it is a huge surprise that I have a pet peeve.

Some things just get to me more then others.  Now I have a new one.

Are you ready for it?

There is nothing more annoying then online recipes with comments that rave about how FABULOUS, or BEST I'VE EVER HAD, or YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS ONE, and my favorite is....
BETTER THAN MY GRANDMAS.

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!!

All that means to me is, NOTHING!

Every recipe I have tried that says those things are nasty.

To be honest most of them are quick and easy recipes.
I am just sticking to the old fashion hard recipes because they just taste better.
I don't care about low fat, no taste, nasty shmasty stuff.

Like one I tried was....
OK before I tell ya I know this one just looked bad but I tried it.

Ok it said, "just take a box cake mix and add one can of pumpkin for the best ever pumpkin cake or cupcakes".  If you have seen this online, don't try it.   It is sticky and no taste.  Just don't do it.
Trust me I tried it and lucky for me I had teenage boys at my house to eat them, and they
only ate them because they eat anything.

So my pet peeve is stupid dumb reviews on recipes.

I did however try a recipe that a friend of mine found online and she tried it first and said it was yummy, so then I tried it.   I made it last night for dinner.  I thought it was yummy and Thayne said he liked it, and Wyatt ate it and liked it.   My girls made fun of it from the time it hit the table,
but that is completely normal for them so we don't count their opinion.

Are you wondering what it was I made?
I made Spicy Mandarin Orange Chicken.
My friend Jen got the recipe here.

Let me just add that I am not a good cook at all.
I do have my standard good recipes and I am really trying to get better, but darn is it
frustrating when I try a recipe and it just isn't a good one.

Have I mentioned that it is almost fudge making season again,
and I know how to make good fudge.

Maybe I will even be nice a post my recipe on here this year.
For all I know it is on the back of some box somewhere, but I got it from
Thayne's grandma so to me it is a family recipe.   Ü

I made those cake mix cookies and they were good. I was told to use a spice cake mix a small can of pumpkin and chocolate chips. I used all but about a 1/4 cup of the pumpkin to lessen the stickiness. They were good! You just have to make sure that you cook them well so they aren't mushy inside.
