Yesterday he asks to make cookies and PROMISES he will clean up the kitchen better than when he got in there. So I stupidly agreed.
Last night the kitchen had cookie crumbs all over the counters and stove and cookies all over the counter. There was only one dozen of flat crunchy cookies.
This morning this was our conversation. Keep in mind he thinks he is funny and being very sassy.
Me- TJ you still have a cookie mess to clean up.
TJ- where I don't see a cookie mess
Me- right there on the stove and the counter
TJ- I don't see any mess
Me- Well, I do!
TJ- Well I don't and if you do than you must be seeing things and going crazy.
After he went to school I went back to the kids wing of the house and found the empty cookie dough bowl sitting by the kids computer.
I am beginning to learn that things you do or don't teach your kids when they are little will come back and bite you when they grow up. DUH!

oh ya, I'm in full agreement on that one, I've been bitten so many times. But I had to laugh when you refer to this little boy and it was TJ.
Oh the promises! I have a child or two just like that, always wants to bake but never cleans it up. And...unfortunately...most of what they bake is not exactly edible.
love that pic of tj. the good ol' days.
ha ha- good luck with that one!
