never enough

You would think if you had 25 of anything it would be enough, right?
Not for my Horticulturist!
A few months ago he had this idea of a family trip to the nursery. He told everyone to pick out their very own tree. I love the idea of each kid planting their own tree in our yard so I was on board with this family activity. I have no idea what Thayne has in him that makes him love trees and plants and more yard work. Each kid and myself picked out fruit trees and Thayne found him self, not one but 3 cotton wood trees. He didn't stop there because after all the fruit trees were planted he went and got an orange tree for himself so we had a complete family of fruit trees. I would like to say that was it, but he has since planted 4 more trees in the yard. I don't want to sound grumpy about this because he is so cute about it and I love that he enjoys it, but he may be sad one day when I cut one of those suckers down to make baseboards for the hallway. Was that a subtle hit?

We did have alot of fun and I think the kids enjoyed picking out and planting their very own trees..

This child is just like his dad

TJ did not come out and plant his until after I was in the house so no pictures of him.

When I came out to plant my tree I found this hot guy

planting it for me. What a hunk!

So if you want to stop by in about 8 years we will have enough shade and fruit for everyone.

Wow, those are deep holes. umm, an Orang tree, I do miss ours. Beware of those cottonwoods. Are they cottonless?

Count me in! But can you send me a reminder note on that one? We totally need trees in our yard. If he gets the bug again, send him my way.

Awesome!!!! Can't wait to partake of the fruit. It's in the genes.

a little somethin' I learned from my unwanted cottonwood- those cottonwoods should be shading all of queen creek by the end of Summer.

I LOVE cottonwoods! That is my tree of choice for lining my property someday. I am a tree lover too- I may just borrow your assigning out trees idea for my family!

Counting twentyfive won't even get you to the back of the house. There will never be enough. Think Green and the future of our children and their children.
