I know I am not always a nice person. I wish I was. Everyday I try harder to be a little kinder, and I am gradually getting better at it. I do have a soft spot for old people. Well maybe not always when they drive really slow, but in the winter here we are bombarded with slow driving snowbirds. I still try to show patience but do find myself getting irritated sometime. I guess something else I need to work on. Ok back to the soft spot I have.
Today I ran Wyatt to scouts and ran quickly to the grocery store to get Sam a treat for Young Women's and some milk for breakfast. I wanted to get in and out of there fast. So I whipped through the store, didn't even take time to check my blood pressure. As I was finishing up I was on the far end isle of the store. I saw this old lady in a battery operated shopping cart. She had a full cart (she had everything and anything "Pillsbury"). I was walking up behind her and noticed she was shuffling along. She was sitting in the seat of the cart but had her right foot out to the side pushing the cart along. I was wondering if she was just shopping or if she needed help. I kinda stayed back a little to see if she needed help. Remember I was in a hurry? I saw 2 men just walk right by her and look at her but just kept shopping. So I went up to the lady and asked her if she needed help. She said, "oh I do. The battery is dead and I need to get to the front of the store to get a new charged one". All I could think about is how long it would have taken her to get to the front of the store pushing with one foot. I told her I would push her but I think it would be fun to go fast. She said "me too". So off we went at hyper speed. She was smiling the whole time. I got her switched to a new cart and she was on her way with a big smile on her face and I had a big smile on my face.
Oh I hope her Pillsbury cookies taste extra good tonight.

i would have loved to see you both go at hyper speed. that's a cute story and reminds me to stop and help those in need when i am super busy.
