grumpy ol' me

I had a TERRIBLE night. I didn't get into bed until around 11:30 and I finally got into bed and being my stupid self I started watching American Idol that I Tivo'd.

I finally fell asleep when in the middle of the night at 2:30am I felt a poke on my left shoulder. Still kinda sleepy I thought I hope that is not what I think it is....a scorpion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I jumped out of bed and turned on the light and moved the blanket around to find a scorpion in my bed. That is when I started feeling the tingling and pain start. I will say it was not as bad as the one I got a year ago. I put the scorpion in a mug next to my bed because scorpions cannot climb out of glass jars, they are to slippery. Well, that is unless it is the mug you had hot chocolate in that night and dried hot chocolate on a mug is not slippery. I went back to bed and drifted off to sleep, when NO WAY I felt the same pain in my right upper arm.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

I again hopped up turned on the light to look for another scorpion thinking my bed is now infested with the pests. I found it and then went to stick it in the mug with the other one only to find out the other one is the same one I had. It climbed out of the mug because of the dried hot chocolate. How the heck did the same scorpion find me twice? Needless to say I am very very GRUMPY and my left shoulder and right arm are still tingly and alittle bit numb because of the poison.

Now here is what is crazy about the whole thing. My parents came to stay with me last year. My dad is ridiculously scared of scorpions. I had kept telling him I hadn't seen a scorpion in months so he would be fine. Well after they left the very next day I found a scorpion crawling right by were his shoes had been. All I could think was "that was close" and "I am not telling my dad". Well my dad was here this last weekend and again grilled me about scorpions. Since he was staying in TJ's room we told him TJ had never had a scorpion in his room so he was safe. We told him none of us had ever been stung in our beds while we were sleeping. Well he left on Wednesday and sure enough the very next night I get stung twice in my bed while sleeping. I think I my dad is a jinx.

This has not been a good week for me with pain. Monday night I burned my hand kinda bad but it is better now. Now I am in pain with scorpion stings. I think I am glad I am not doing the London Run tomorrow morning, I could just imagine what would happen to me.

I am so sorry! I am completely scorpion-phobic! I got stung a few months ago and still can't sit in the chair where the little sucker got me! You are nicer than me. He would not have gone in my mug, he would have been dispatched very quickly and with much fervor! Hope you're feeling better...

I'm with Valeen, how come you didn't pound the crud out of that thing? I could never have gone back to sleep knowing the thing was alive in a cup right next to me. Sorry for all the rough spots this week. Don't chickens eat scorpians?

Ok, so I read this to your dad and he SAID, we're going to a motel next visit. Like that's going to save him. It's time to call a exterminator to slow them down I think they're lovin your weather.

That is so crazy! We have chickens and I have not seen a scorpion since.

I hate them with a passion. I think it is funny though you only see them after your dad is there. I would never live there! Not if you paid me millions of dollars! I can't believe you were able to go back to sleep! I would have been awake all night! I hope your arm feels better soon.
