my dream boat

I am just certain this is how every wife feels when their husband comes home from being gone for awhile. Actually I always felt like this when Thayne was home every night. I always get excited starting the day before he is coming home, and then the day he is actually coming home I feel like I am getting ready for my first date with him. The house has to be straightened. I change my clothes and try to put on something nice, even if it is jeans and a t-shirt I make sure it is a nice pair of jeans and a nice shirt. I always call to find out where he is so I can make sure my hair looks nice and my teeth are brushed. I like that I still get butterflies when I know he is coming home. I know I am a total dork but it's just a nice reminder that I still love him. I am sure there are times that he would not mind me being a total mess when he got home just to know it was because I was cleaning out a few closets, but then that just wouldn't be me.

I can understand with Thayne being absent so much it is very much like a first date. And to think you still feel that way after 17 years, how great is that.

You are totally a dork, a very romantic dork. I love it! It'll only stay good as long as you continue to make an effort, you guys are too cute. Have a great weekend!

I love that your wrote this. I think it is so important for our kids to see how we felt about our spouse when they were young. Your girls (and boys) will read this years from now and be grateful for parents who love each other this much.
