Sunday Sweetheart
It has been one of those Sundays. Not the super spiritual ones. The kind that you say did I really wake up to this. Then with the little touches that Thayne add to my day I am still smiling.
Tito and Nick's
I guess it all started last night when I suggested we go out to this new pizzeria near the kids school. It just opened so I thought it would be fun to try out something new. Tito & Nicks turned out to be a nice Italian place very cutely decorated. It was a little bit more than I was expecting. The problem was crappy service, and we waited for our food for over an hour. My food was not all that bad, Thayne didn't like his. Who knows we may go back when they have been in business for a while and the service gets better. So anyways we got home kinda late, and I was too tired to iron white shirts for the guys. I figured I would do it after my meeting in the morning.
Good News, Bad News
This morning I had my 8am Sunday welfare meeting. I am usually out of this meeting between 9-9:30. This week it was 9:45. I was running behind schedule because I still had to iron 3 white shirts for the boys. I had originally planned to take the shirts to the cleaners because I wanted a break from ironing this week, but the lady at the cleaners told me I brought them in to late and I wouldn't get them back in time. grrr. So anyways. I got back from my meeting walked in the house and had Thayne asking me if I wanted the good news or the bad news. I looked at him and said "the good news is you ironed the shirts for me, right?" He said, "yes I did". After I heard that good news I knew the bad news would be easy. I was ready to handle anything knowing I didn't have to iron. Then he says "the bad news is Sister Hardt called and is sick so she can't do class sharing time." Huh? We leave for church in one hour and we have no sharing time.
Rush hour
What do I do? I called Shantell Carroll and told her she will have extra singing time and then head straight to Sugardoodle.net (my favorite church site) to find some kind of story to tell the kids for sharing time. While I was doing this Thayne had already had the meat in the fridge marinading for dinner, and had laundry going and was cleaning our room. The kitchen managed to stay clean before church which kept me in a good mood.
Church time
I won't go into all the hairy details, but one of my counselors was out of town, (we missed you Julia, hope you had fun. Ü) my other counselor didn't show up at all, don't know why but I hope it was a good reason. Gena, I love you for picking up all the slack, primary runs smoothly because of you.!!!!! Jr primary, we had no talk or scripture. So I grabbed kids at the last minute to fill in. The primary microphone broken so it was hard to hear them. It just kinda seemed like everyone needed to talk to me or needed me to fix something for them. I am lucky to have great music leaders who are awesome. I left church needing a nap. I love my calling and days like today definitely spice it up quite a bit. But, I was still able to get in and sit with the kids alittle bit and sing with them which is my favorite part of primary.
I woke up from my nap telling Thayne we needed to get the meat on the BBQ so it would be done in time. He told me everything was already taken care of. Ü Even though Sunday really isn't the day to do house work, he has managed to get almost all the laundry done so who really wants to stop that. NOT ME!
I don't think I would have kept my cool today if it wasn't for Thayne doing all the little things that took the burden off of my shoulders. I love that he saves all his patience for me and always tries to make things a little easier. What a dreamboat!

I must say even though it was crazy you sounded pretty calm. I can't believe one of your counselors just didn't show up, what's with that? Thayne's such a good guy he hears without you speaking. He must really love you.
Aw what a sweetheart Thayne is!
You are a lucky gal! I will be more appreciative of mine. He does all the boys ironing every Sunday. I guess I take that for granted. And if it makes you feel any better, we always finish laundry on sunday.
cooking, laundry, and ironing???dreamboatish, indeed!
How sweet! I hate ironing, too!
