Not just dying

This year I started to wonder if kids ever get to old for holiday traditions. Is there ever a time to give it up and move on to something new. I decided no.
This year instead of regular white eggs we used fresh brown eggs from our coop. I was a little bit worried about whether they would dye or not. It was so neat to see the deep rich colors we got from dying brown eggs. The colors were beautiful.

Instead of thinking my kids were to old to dye eggs for Easter I decided to allow my misc craft box to be opened for their imagination. I had pipe cleaners, rolly eyes, feathers, stickers, and of course we used alot of hot glue. I have to say it was fun to see them create and name the eggs. Yes they named them. This morning while having thier easter egg hunt I heard Jessika yell "did anyone find LaFonda?"

This is TJ with his very cool new $12 glasses he got while at the mall with Jake.

The best part was Thayne was home for the night and I always like that.

I can't believe how great of a color the egg turned out. Next year I'm getting eggs from you.

I love fresh eggs. We gathered brown, green & white from our hens. Yours turned out much better than ours:)

I'm with you Rach- ours were all pastels- which is fine if you want all pastels. But I was looking for something with a little more pizzazz.
