Quick to praise

Every single morning I have one child (Jess) who is always running late. I am not sure what takes her so long but she is always moving slow. Now that make-up has been added to the picture it is getting worse. Every morning I give her my speech as I do her hair how she need to think about what she can do to get ready on time. It always falls on deaf ears because the speech has been going on all year. This morning she came up to me 10 minutes early for me to do her hair. I was in the bathroom brushing her hair and realized I didn't have a speech prepared because she was early today. So with a big smile I told her how her new plan must be working because she is early and I was so happy that she made an effort to try. She got a huge smile on her face and as usual even on days she is in trouble she left my room with a skip in her step. I love mornings like today.
